Read the small print correctly

The minimum 60 FPS figure is not a native-rendering promise; the store explicitly labels it upscaled. The 4K recommended target is also upscaled. When comparing your results, match resolution, preset, and scaling mode instead of quoting only the frame-rate number.

A minimum specification is a target, not a guarantee for every battle state, driver version, server load, or Early Access build. Large 100-player fights, destruction, and new patches can expose different bottlenecks.

04

A clean performance baseline

  • Update Windows and the official GPU driver, then restart.
  • Keep at least the published 50 GB free before download and patching; extra temporary space may still be useful.
  • Begin with the store’s named preset and resolution target.
  • Record average FPS, frame-time spikes, CPU/GPU utilization, and the exact match situation.
  • Change one setting group at a time: resolution scale, shadows, effects, view distance, then post-processing.
  • Do not compare a quiet spawn area with a full Control Zone battle.

Developer position on optimization

BULKHEAD says performance has been a priority and that graphics options are intended to tune the game across a wide range of hardware. That is a developer claim, not an independent benchmark. Use the live Early Access build on your own hardware as the deciding evidence.

OPS NOTE

No universal “best settings” are published here before the September 10 build is available for repeatable testing.
