01
Identify the failure boundary
A player report in the official Closed Beta thread described a hard crash at the Easy Anti-Cheat splash screen. That confirms the symptom existed, not that every startup crash is caused by EAC. Watch where the process stops and write down the exact wording or number.
Separate three cases: EAC itself displays a named error, EAC completes and WARDOGS crashes afterward, or nothing visible appears. The first case belongs in Easy Anti-Cheat support. The second may require WARDOGS crash reporting. The third needs a general Steam launch check first.
02
Reversible checks first
- Restart the PC so a stuck EAC or game process is cleared.
- Verify WARDOGS files in Steam; this can restore missing or damaged packaged files.
- Install supported Windows and hardware-driver updates from official sources.
- Open the official EAC support library and choose the article matching your exact message, such as service-not-installed, unknown-file-version, or Error 30005.
- Collect EAC system logs if the official article asks for them.
03
Avoid fake fixes
- Do not download replacement EAC DLLs or executables from file-sharing sites.
- Do not turn off Secure Boot, TPM, antivirus, or Windows kernel protections unless an official support article specifically explains a compatible configuration.
- Do not use launch arguments advertised as anti-cheat bypasses.
- Do not delete random system folders or services because another game used a different EAC layout.
- Do not interpret a Linux community workaround as confirmed WARDOGS support.
An anti-cheat bypass is not troubleshooting. It can expose the PC, violate game rules, and still leave the underlying crash unresolved.
04
Build a useful support report
Include the error code, timestamp, game build, Windows version, install drive, and whether file verification found a problem. If an EAC article provides a log collection path, attach the requested logs through the official support channel rather than pasting private machine data into a public forum.
If EAC succeeds but WARDOGS crashes, say that explicitly. It prevents support from sending you in circles through anti-cheat repair steps that have already completed.
